Hyatt Regency Sacramento, EV charger installation celebration

The Hyatt Regency Sacramento celebrated its newly installed 26 electric vehicle charging stations this week. It is the largest single hotel EV charging cluster in the United States. Twenty ClipperCreek communications enabled Level 2 HCS-40 Charging Stations and six Tesla charging stations were installed to service hotel and parking lot guests.

Nearly 30 PEVs from SacEV member owners, SMUD, Hyatt, and Clipper Creek were on display to celebrate the grand opening with a ceremonial cutting of a gasoline station hose.

KCRA/NBC TV Report video

This sizable EV charging cluster is being controlled and intelligently managed by the Smart Grid Billing’s GridRabbit system which is a sophisticated energy management platform geared specifically for hotels. In addition to monitoring and controlling the power available for charging to avoid utility demand charges, the GridRabbit system also optimizes power utilization across other appliances at the hotel. ClipperCreek’s Cosmos enabled EV Charging Stations can be seamlessly added to any GridRabbit management system to allow facilities to offer vehicle charging while staying within their available power budget and eliminate the concern of hitting higher electrical rate and demand tiers.

*Display Your Own PEV*

Do you own a plug-in electric vehicle (PEV)? Would you enjoy displaying your PEV to your neighbors after participating in an EV Cruise? Are you enthusiastic about your purchase of a clean, green, fun, inexpensive to maintain, electric vehicle?

Please join us and show your own PEV to others so that they may come to know the enjoyment of electric drive.

What Did People Say About Previous Drive Electric Weeks?

“Really great way to engage and inform the public about what’s coming up in the EV segment. The more we talk to people about them now the better position we’ll be in, in the future.  From a production standpoint it was done really well.”
Graham Enos, Downtown Ford

“For about four hours it was non-stop test drives.” Laurence Triggs, Future Nissan of Folsom
“There was a nice mix of vendors, auto dealers and private owners. Seeing the EVs lined up like high priced taxi cabs waiting for fares was fantastic.”  SMUD Employee

“Talked to many people that came just for the event... Dialed it in right."  Rick Curtis, CODA
